We're Hiring!

We are looking for native-level, English-speaking ESL teachers/coaches to join our roster for future clients.

About Us:

We are a small (but growing!) language company catering specifically to adult French Canadians who are learning English as a second language.  We primarily offer 1:1 conversation-based classes with a focus on spoken English and listening comprehension.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay
  • 100% remote work environment
  • Ability to set your own schedule
  • Freedom to grow your relationships with your clients
  • Support and collaboration from other ESL teachers
  • Access to teaching resources

Class Length:

  • 30 minutes to 1 hour

Time Zone:

  • Clients are in Eastern Standard Time (EST) – UTC -05:00

Job Type:

  • Subcontractor/part-time/flexible

Rate of Pay:

  • $22 per hour

Office/Technology Requirements:

  • Reliable computer
  • Reliable high-speed internet

If you have:

  • TESOL/TEFL certification
  • Experience in teaching adult learners
  • Great social and conversational skills
  • The ability to flexibly move between conversation and teaching to explain grammatical concepts within the flow of discussion
  • Work experience outside of teaching that gives you a real-life perspective of English as a global language and experience communicating with people who speak English as a second language (retail, customer service, skilled professions, trades, healthcare – anything!)

If you are:

  • Comfortable teaching learners from beginner to advanced levels
  • Open to learning new ways to teach English
  • Passionate about the English language as a tool for diversity, inclusion, and equity
  • Respectful and curious
  • Focused on supporting your client to achieve success
  • People-focused and people-driven
  • Bilingual in English and French it would be a bonus (but not essential)

When we say “coach,” we are not looking for someone with an “official” coaching “certification.”  We are looking for someone who naturally:

  • Prioritizes practical clarity in human communication over grammatical perfection
  • Helps their clients to set realistic language learning goals
  • Understands the specific needs/timing/context where their client needs to speak English
  • Is empathetic and responsive to the mental and emotional strain that learning a second language can cause in adult learners
  • Helps their clients to understand how English is used by everyday people in everyday situations
  • Holds themselves and their clients accountable for progress and improvement

If the above descriptions sound like you, we would love to hear from you!

Please submit the following with your application.

  • Resume
  • A copy of your TESOL/TEFL certification
  • A short letter telling us about your unique approach to teaching English as a second language

Thank you to all applicants, however, only candidates who are shortlisted will be contacted.
